Delius Singers: Abendlied

Tickets £5 - £15

The Delius Singers present a programme of German music from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries inspired by the evening. The night time has been used as the basis of many contemplations: evocations of nature, fervent romantic passions, the twilight of life, and a plea for peace. Each of these feature in beautiful settings by Rheinberger, Mendelssohn-Hensel, and Brahms, along with choral epics by Schoenberg, Strauss, and Reger.

Josef Rheinberger - Die Wasserfee (The mermaid)
Josef Rheinberger - Lockung (Temptation)
Richard Strauss - Der Abend (The evening)
Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel - Gartenlieder (Garden Songs)
Johannes Brahms - 4 Quartets Op. 92
Arnold Schoenberg - Friede auf Erden
Max Reger - Der Einseidler (The hermit)
