The Faculty of Music is delighted to have received an Athena SWAN Bronze award for the years 2019-23.
Advance HE’s Athena Swan Charter is a framework which is used to support and transform gender equality within higher education (HE) and research. Established in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment, the Charter is now being used around the world to address gender equality more broadly, and not just barriers to progression that affect women. Further information about the Athena SWAN Charter is available here: https://www.advance-he.ac.uk/equality-charters/athena-swan-charter
The Faculty’s Bronze award recognises the work we have begun to do, but importantly commits us to a range of actions which we hope will make us a more diverse and equal community.
